Unemployment TAX & Claim Management
My Payroll Representative is, to be frank, Johnny-on-the-spot. she is quick, efficient, and she is 100% reliable. Anytime we need anything at all, she is there to check into her files for us, get us information, or instruct us on what our next move should be. When emailing her, I know that I will hear back from her within the half hour. Lori has made our payroll process a breeze and we wouldn't work with anyone else. - Garry H

2012 Standard Mileage Rates Mostly the Same

The Internal Revenue Service announced the standard mileage rates to begin on January 1, 2012. The rates are used to calculate the amount that will be deducted for operating an automobile, whether for business, charity, medical or moving.

The business mileage rate will remain the same as when first implemented back in July of this year. The medical and moving rate has been reduced by 5 cents.

For the use of a car (vans, pick-ups or panel truck included), the standard mileage rates per mile are as follows:

  • 55.5 cents for business miles
  • 23 cents for medical purposes
  • 14 cents for charitable services
The standard mileage rates for business, medical and moving purposes are based on a yearly study around the fixed and variable costs of operating an automobile. The study was conducted by Runzheimer International, an independent contractor.
