The annual federal per diem rate - a combination of lodging, meal and incidental expenses for business travel within the continental US - has been issued by the General Services Administration (GSA). The rate will be applied to all travel taken on or after October 1, 2011.

SSA Not Identifying Employers Receiving 'No-Match' Letters

In June of 2006, Judicial Watch (JW) submitted a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request to the Social Security Administration (SSA) asking for a list of 50-100 employers with the most social security number mismatches from 2001 through 2005. The SSA denied the JW’s request for the list, stating that 26 USC §6103 prohibited the list disclosure because it was generated from tax returns filed with the IRS.
